Old-Green-Grasshopper: Very well, Centipede. Okay James, here, it is. Where
do we put our ears?
James: Well, in our head, of course. That's such
a silly question, Old-Greenie.
Centipede: Oh my goodness! You didn’t even know that?
Old-Green-Grasshopper: Well, no. We put them on our tummy…
James: No,, no and NO! I don’t… that’s not…
Centipede : If you ask me, you know what I think is weird? I don’t mean to be
rude, but having ears on your HEAD is weird!
Ladybird: Oh, you pest! Always being so rude and ridiculous!
Miss Spider :Leave that little poor boy alone!
Narrator : The centipede suddenly started dancing wildly around the deck. He
was on the edge and before anyone could catch him he fell down, down, down
Miss Spider : OH NO! HE FELL OFF THE PEACH! Someone go save him! It
couldn't be worse.
James: Silkworm, start spinning! Quick!!
Silkworm : *Sigh* What?! I’m tired! Why should I do so? Huh James?!
James: Because the Centipede will die if you don't!
Silkworm : Ugh, very well… I will try as much as I can, but I can barely keep my
eyes open. *Spins silk*
Narrator: James climbed down the peach holding the silk. After a while all the
insects started to cry. No one pulled the string. The Old-green-Grasshopper played a
funeral march. After a while they heard James say “Pull!”. All the insects pulled to get
James and the Centipede up. Finally they reached the top. Everyone was so grateful
they didn’t know what to say.
Old-green-grasshopper: Oh, thank you so much James… We don't know how to
thank you.
