amusing. Me and my group members were assigned to be Word wizards at first. That
was the first time we were introduced to Reciprocal learning. It was really fun and I
extremely enjoyed taking all the roles especially being Word wizard. I feel like conducting
this activity would be more enjoyable in the online platform (my experience and personal
opinion) because we all are engaged and learn something while taking each role. Our
group members always cooperated in doing this activity. I also enjoyed framing
questions from the chapter for my friends and the clarifier’s team answered the
questions well. This activity is indeed super fun and engaging way to learn.

Reciprocal Teaching is an activity that we did while studying the books - Tiger Boy and
James and the Giant Peach. We started to do Reciprocal Teaching in Grade 4. I had
almost forgotten about it completely when we started doing it again in Grade 5 because
it had been a long time since I had done it in Grade 4. There were a few changes from
what we did in Grade 4.
Reciprocal Teaching is when we use different roles to understand the story more. In
reciprocal teaching, there are around 5-6 roles. The roles were Reader, Word Wizard,
Questioner, Clarifier, Analyzer and Summarizer. There would be a group for each role
and each group had a specific task assigned by the teacher before we started it. We had
to read the chapters selected for Reciprocal Teaching and prepare according to our
roles.
The activity starts with the readers as they would read the chapters. The questioners
had to make questions for the clarifiers and the clarifiers had to be ready for whatever
questions the questioners would ask. The word wizards would find the meanings of the
new words in the chapters and share with the entire class. Sometimes we would have
character analyzers and summarizers. When we had the character analyzers, their jobs
would be to analyze the characters and their traits. They would explain why the
characters were acting in a certain way and what could be the reason for that. The
summarizer's job was to summarize the chapter.
