With NJC’s gratitude, you are invited to direct your gift to the area of need that appeals most to you.

SCHOlARSHipS ANd BuRSARiES
Our tuition is comparable to Canadian boarding school fees, yet most travel is an additional cost; therefore, NJC is a significant investment for prospective families to consider. These awards help families to bridge the gap, thereby making NJC a reality instead of an opportunity that is just too much of a stretch financially. Non-profit independent schools such as ours
set fees to cover operating expenses, so without our community’s support in this category, scholarships and bursaries would not be available.
1. Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships are designed to attract very strong candidates to an academic institution. The most prestigious independent schools and universities offer merit scholarships, and NJC is proud to include itself among them.
2. Tuition Bursaries
Bridging the gap for families with a tuition bursary not only helps to provide this extraordinary experience to those who merit it, but also gives additional stability for the school in years when enrolment can be challenged by factors driven by the economy.
3. Travel Bursaries
These bursaries range in size from $1,000 to $5,000 and enable students to travel to more destinations with their NJC peers rather than being left behind.
SpECiAl fuNdS
Over the years, a number of special funds have been set up by NJC Alumni. If you wish to dedicate your gift to any of the following, please remember to indicate this on your pledge envelope or when you donate your gift online:
Endowed Travel Bursary | Class of 59-60 Endowed Speaker Series | Class of 60-61 The DuPasquier Award in French Proficiency
ENdOWMENT
An endowment fund is essential to the immediate and long-term stability of any academic institution. It is the legacy that one generation of alumni and past parent donors can leave to ensure the strength and permanence of the institution. A gift to the endowment is a gift in perpetuity since only the interest on the capital is ever expended. Sizeable endowment funds are able to offset tuition for future students – including alumni children and grandchildren – while also producing enough revenue to fund capital projects, additional scholarships
and bursaries.
Dear NJC Community:
Whether you attended in the 1950s or the 2000s, please know that the Junior College continues to offer the most intense experiential education available, but we need your support to help keep it this way. Smaller gifts from many community members add up to make a big difference, and larger gifts are obviously transformative in their own right. Every gift is vital to the continuous advancement and stability of the school, so I thank you for your consideration to be an annual campaign donor this year.
Thanks to Leonard Wilde’s vision and the communities of families who have supported it since, all Neuchâtel Junior College graduates are part of an incredible legacy. I gratefully thank everyone who has donated in the past. I appeal to past donors to give again, and I ask those who have not yet supported the school with a donation, to please consider one this year in support of Neuch.
Thank you for your support of our extraordinary school.
William S. Boyer
Head of School
This year has taught me that your life and the experiences you take are entirely in your hands. You have the power to make the absolute best of what the world has to offer and once you are fearless, your opportunities become limitless. You have to seize every opportunity, take chances, and view every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. I would not trade this year for anything. This was by far the best year of my life and with all the friends that I have made and the new perspective I have on life, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.
