20 Questions about PowerPoint in the Virtual Classroom
Q 1
In the physical classroom, “Death by PowerPoint” usually means
that a presenter has created a text-heavy slide deck and is reading
the slides to people while he or she is presenting. It’s boring. Of
course, you can make the same mistake in the virtual classroom.
When you are facilitating training face-to-face, the conventional
wisdom is to use fewer slides and focus more on your audience. In
the virtual classroom, that advice does not apply, however. The
chances are good that you will need more slides when you present
in the virtual classroom.
The trick is to minimze the amount of text on each slide and
improve the graphics.
