20 Questions about PowerPoint in the Virtual Classroom
Q 2
Our “rule of thumb” is no more than one minute spent on any one slide. That
means it’s possible you might have 60 slides in a one-hour webinar or virtual
classroom session. The more activities your learners engage in, the fewer slides you
might have, of course. If your slides are well-prepared with more images and less
text, people won’t mind 60 slides. In fact, they might find the whole experience
more engaging.
Q 3
It’s an interesting difference but you actually want to use more slides, not fewer slides when presenting to an
online audience. Why? Because web conferencing is primarily a visual experience. Your slides are your strongest
attention management tool. Every time you advance the slide, you grab back your participants’ attention.
