Anyway, everybody was happy with the four awards from the judges:
1. Spirit of Noosa Concours – Mike Fergusons 1932 Chevrolet BA Confederate Moonlight Speedster, with Australian Holden Motor Body Builders body – spectacular! Restored and owned by local north Brisbane family. Spectacular
2. Best Classic – 1964 Ferrari 250LM race car, beautifully restored and maintained by a wealthy Brisbane family, this vehicle alone insured for $30m AUS.
3. Best Modern – 2016 Aston Martin GT 12 Vantage – highly optioned (cost $1.5m AUS new) and in beaut condition.
4. Best in Show – 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Aravis Special, one of 7 displayed by Clive Palmer, who purchased it recently in USA for $6m US – spectacular!
Head Judge Frank Carroll’s beautiful 1927 Rolls Royce Phantom Limousine was display only and transported the judges around in style.
They were all deserving winners although with the calibre of fabulous cars there any of them were worthy. Including the ex- Adelaide type 57 ex Gavin Stanford- Morgan (now owned by Doug Young from Brisbane. And last, but not least, the Edwards Type 13 Brescia
The entire day was Pebble Beach class,
there were street singers and musicians playing all day, there was an aeronautical display by a fantastic stunt pilot – just spectacular !!!
