his grasp. The three of them exchanged multiple overtakes throughout the remainder of the race, providing the crowd with some of the best racing of the season thus far. Elias was incredibly strong on the brakes heading into turn five as well as turn twelve, but Beaubier’s mid-corner speed allowed him to regain precious time on the Suzuki rider. Elias worked hard in order to build a gap that would break the draft to the finish line on the final lap, but he wasn’t able to do so as Beaubier breathed down his tailpipe on the final lap. He was forced to concede the inside line heading into the final corner and gave way to Beaubier’s Yamaha. Elias quickly cut underneath the two-time defending champion in an attempt to out-drag him to the finish line, but he came up five thousandths of a second short and had to settle for second position. He was out for redemption in the second race and was able to repeat his incredible jump off of the starting grid as he slotted into third position coming out of the first corner. By the time the pack had completed one lap of the four mile circuit, Elias found himself joined by his teammate with a comfortable lead over their pursuers. The two
of them clicked off consistent lap times as they swapped positions momentarily, but Elias was determined to hold onto the lead. He worked his way into first by the fifth lap and the race was red flagged one lap later, providing him with his fourth race win of the season.
