He found himself behind Josh Hayes and Josh Herrin throughout the early stages of the race,
but he was able to make quick work of his fellow Yamaha riders as he jumped into third position by the third lap. At that point, he did his best to close the gap to the Yoshimura Suzuki duo at the front of the field, but a red flag cut his chances short and he was forced to settle for third position. Although Beaubier wasn’t able to repeat his double race win heroics from 2016, he finished
both races on the podium and heads into the fifth round of action within striking distance of the championship lead.
