BRYCE PRINCE | BAZZAZ SUPERSTOCK 1000
In the opening race, the Yamaha rider managed a decent jump off the starting grid as he found himself in thirteenth place on the opening lap. He was involved in one of the closest battles on the track for practically the entirety of the race, battling back and forth with Hayden Gillim, David Anthony, and Larry Pegram. The four of them fought tooth and nail throughout the opening laps in an attempt to sort out the pecking order, but the heavy braking zones that are so prevalent around the aptly named National Park of Speed produced a plethora of passing opportunities. Prince worked his way past Anthony
and Pegram on the first lap, tucking in behind Gillim for brief amount of time. He shot to the front of the group and commanded the pace from tenth position overall, fourth in the Superstock 1000 class, until the halfway point, but he wasn’t able to fight off advances from Anthony and Pegram. Prince did his best to keep a tidy line, fighting the urge to get sucked into the corners, as he hit his marks one lap after another. He forced his way back past Pegram on the ninth lap and was able to secure tenth position for the remainder of the race, building a gap of a couple of seconds at the eventual checkered flag to finish fourth in the Superstock 1000 class, tenth overall. In the second race, the Californian rode in a tightly contested battle throughout the shortened five lap affair. Prince started in the same position that he qualified, but he found himself in a battle with Jake Lewis in a battle for Superstock supremacy. The two of them duked it out on the opening lap, but Prince was able to make the move stick and work himself into eleventh position in no time. He stayed within touching distance of Hayden Gillim throughout the last couple laps, but eventually crossed the line a couple of tenths behind the Kentuckian as he was forced to settle for another fourth overall in the Superstock 1000 class, narrowly missing out on his second podium of the season.
