Despite the minor setback, the Kentuckian managed to make the best of the situ- ation and stayed afloat in the championship chase with a collection of ex- tremely consistent results throughout the season. Gillim made a step in the right direction in the sec- ond race at VIR where he came away with a fourth place finish, matching his best result of the year.
