Devin Simonson broke through as one of the standout performers in
the B class throughout the month of March this year, winning a couple of number one plates with a couple of podium finishes to boot. The B class is often one of the most competitive groups in amateur motocross and the Yamaha rider proved himself as one of the fastest on any given day. Si- monson reigned victorious in the 450 B class at the Daytona RCSX, leading the second half of the main event until the checkered flag. In addition to his success in the 450 B class, he also managed a couple of top five finishes in both 250 B classes as well. The Ya- maha rider didn’t find his way back to the podium in Texas, but he managed to finish all eight of his motos within the top ten, including a second place finish in Schoolboy 2.
HAIDEN DEEGAN
It’s hard to find another rider in the mini classes of the current amateur motocross scene that has more com- bined speed and style than Haiden Deegan. The California native always leaves his mark on the competition and always hangs it out on the track. He started off his spring campaign at Spring A Ding Ding at Underground MX and he encountered his fair share of success while doing so, predominantly in the 65cc ranks. Dangerboy went undefeated on his KTM 65, winning all four of his motos in order to earn two pristine number one plates. In the 85cc classes, Deegan didn’t find the same level of success although he still managed
a second place overall in the (9-11) Limited class. The Orange Brigade KTM rider moved onto Freestone for the JS7 Spring Championship where he was able to maintain his streak of dominance in the 65cc divisions, win- ning all four of his motos yet again. After getting his hands on two more number one plates for his collection, Deegan was eyeing up another title in the 85cc (9-11) Limited class after reigning victorious in the first moto, but he was only able to achieve third place overall after a small mistake in the second moto.
