DIESEL THOMAS
Diesel Thomas stayed busy throughout the month of March, lining up on the gate at the Daytona RCSX, Spring
A Ding Ding, and the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship. The Nebraska native started off with some incred-
ibly solid results at the World Center
of Racing in Daytona, most notably in the 65cc (7-11) class. The KTM rider showed stellar consistency throughout both motos, scoring a second place in his heat race and a second place in
the main event. A couple of days later at Underground MX in Texas, Thomas was able keep up his momentum and maintain his podium speed. He finished three out of four of his 65cc motos inside the top five and recorded two podium finishes, but a twelfth place re- sult in the second (7-11) moto hindered his overall score. Nonetheless, Thomas still reached the podium in the (10-11) class and showed podium potential throughout the entire weekend. Free- stone was more of the same for the Nebraska native, producing two more top three finishes in the 65cc ranks and a fourth place overall in the 85cc (9-10) Limited class.
MIKAH CARPENTER
It’s unquestionable that Mikah Car- penter is one of the favorites to take
the victory everytime he lines up on
the gate. The young Cobra rider has amounted quite a resume of success
in the 51cc ranks and he upheld that reputation at the Daytona RCSX at the beginning of March. He contested both the (4-8) and (7-8) divisions and was involved in some titanic battles with Seth Dennis throughout the weekend, swapping positions at the front of the field. Carpenter suffered a DNF in the second 51cc (4-8) main event and was nursing a little bit of an injury, but he was able to push through and come out on top in the (7-8) class. He success- fully defended and backed up his cham- pionship from the previous year at the World Center of Racing, proving himself as one of the top guns in the 51cc class another year running.
