ALVIN HILLAN
Mr. Hillan came into the Freestone Ama- teur Championship, with holsters full of weaponry and ammunition. Rounds and rounds of penetrating machinery, he knew if he the stars could align; he could take out anyone in his division, and come away with victory at war. He would do just that, spraying roost like bullets off of the line, in both the 65cc (10-11) division, and 85cc (9- 10) limited divisions. Top fives were being handed to his competitors like hotcakes,
as he would blister off the line, and scorch the outsides of the raceway, truly showing both his raw speed and aggression. His KTM was known simply as the “Orange Blur”, and was on a one-track path to the front; so much so, that as the dust had settled, both a second, and sixth overall were added to his stat sheet. He wants it, and wants to be known as the best; he’s well on his way.
HARDY MUNOZ
Hardy Munoz made the trip from Miami northbound, and into the heart of Daytona Beach, searching for
solid finishes, and attention from the top sponsors of the sport. He would gain and earn all types of noteworthy praise, after finishes of fourth, sec- ond, and eighth overall, throughout the star-studded Schoolboy 2, 250, and 450 B classes. Adapting to the big bike extremely well, he would then head west, stopping at the highly competitive Spring A Ding Ding event. It was here, where numerous top five finishes would accumulate, with the highlight coming in the 250
B class, and a second overall would follow. With a sixth and fourth place finish to follow suit, the final stop of the “Triple Crown” would be next,
at Freestone MX Park. He would
just continue to rattle off top-notch finishes, with an eighth overall in
450 B (12+), second overall in 250 B (12+), and third overall in the College (16-24) Sportsman division; even claiming a moto victory! My goodness is this young man consistent, and
he keeps this up, his resume could be filled with top finishes as the year continues.
