DOC SMITH
Doc Smith was the man in charge, the chief of operations so to speak, dur-
ing the RC Daytona Supercross event. He could always be found at the front, tackling this technical track with an eye- opening amount of ease. Three top fives in his heat races, pushed him forward, to an awesome ride of fourth place in the 250 C Jr. (12-17) main event. But
he wanted to top that, and coming out of the gate for the 450 C championship, he was bound and determined to win; he would do just that, claiming victory overall. The Spring A Ding Ding event was much of the same, as eight top
ten moto finishes, resulted in overall finishes of fifth, fourth, and two thirds! Talk about consistency. And with all of the competition at Freestone, you may think his results would deter a bit. Never in the slightest, as the Doc performed his most difficult surgeries, mending moto finishes together with exquisite form. A third overall, would be topped by two-second overalls. And the final stitch would be sewed, wrapping up his 450 C Jr. (12-18) limited effort with an astounding championship ride! The two first place finishes were nothing short
of great, and he now looks to ride the wave of momentum into the scorching summer months.
MAX LEE
“Mad Max” as the kids call him, has been on an absolute tear throughout his ama- teur career thus far, and has no plans of stopping, as he continues to climb the ranks through tougher divisions. Moving into the B class, he’s shown outright pure speed, proving his worth at the Spring A Ding Ding race, this past March. In three B classes, he never once placed outside of the top seven, with his best result coming on the stock 250, going four- three, for second overall. Freestone was next, where the gate was full of talent. Max wouldn’t wince, he kept the throttle pinned throughout the week, leaving every ounce of effort on the raceway. Numerous top ten finishes would ensue, and his best would occur in the 450 B Limited (12+) class, where a sixth, and fourth, would place him in fifth overall. He’s tasted success in the past, and will only look to surge forward in the com- ing months. His team is as solid as they come, and we all know the talent that he possesses.
