JASONAGUILAR
The unfavorably damp
and cold qualifying condi-
tions played their part
for each and every rider,
but they heavily affected
the outcome of Aguilar’s
session after he gambled
on his setup and the plan
He ended up qualifying way down the
order in seventeenth posi- tion, providing himself with a challenge if he hopes to match his podium finishes from Road Atlanta. As the racing began on Saturday, Aguilar rocketed into the first corner with utmost urgency, but he wasn’t able to make much progress on the opening lap as he found himself in sixteenth posi- tion. He continued to chip away at the riders ahead
of him as he worked his way up to thirteenth behind Daytona Anderson by the end of the third lap. >>
backfired.
JASONAGUILAR
Although Jason Aguilar didn’t
have the privilege of racing
the opening round of the 2017
MotoAmerica series at COTA
in order to gain a headstart
on the competition, the young
Californian looked as if he had
gained some sort of preseason
advantage on the competi-
tion at Road Atlanta.
t
He was incredibly impressive during
both opening races of the Superstock 600 Champion- ship as he came away from the weekend with two podium finishes -- a second and third place, respectively. After the success that he found at the opening round of the season, the only direction that Aguilar can go is up as he aims to pu his Aguilar Racing YZF-R6 on the top step of the box for the first time this season at VIR.
