And a step in the right direction it was as J-Mart finally drew blood at round two. In fact, the day was the right step for the entire Martin camp as both brothers took the top two spots overall, but that’s getting ahead of ourselves. When the day started, Jeremy found himself in 3rd and when the first gate drop, almost all the heavy hitters found themselves battling hear the front. With Savatgy being the few that were unable to attend, the blue crew of the two Martins, Webb and Plessinger all found themselves inside the top 5 as moto one concluded with Jeremy placing 4th after riding in 3rd for most of the moto. A hiccup in the rhythm section following the finish line allowed the rookie sensation of Austin Forkner by and ruining Martins opportunity at a podium finish. Knowing that his chance at a defending his title needs to begin sooner rather than later, Jeremy took the right type of rest in-between motos and came out in moto two in a commanding way. The black plated #1 took the holeshot ahead of the super-staked field and led the first laps. As if starting the race a few seconds early, Jeremy was gone and never looked back. Ahead of Jessy Nelson, Jeremy gapped himself and was never even challenged before the checkers flew earning him his first podium of the season and a 2nd place ride, just short of his brother, Alex, who took home the first overall of his career. It was a good day for Yamaha had an even better day for the two brothers who now look to Thunder Valley and continuing the momentum that the entire Star Racing team carries with them.
