He did his best to keep Jett Reynolds at bay in the early stages of the race and methodically put a comfortable buffer between himself and the Kawasaki rider, eventually crossing the finish line with more than five seconds to spare. The main event was essentially a carbon-copy of the heat race as Varize found himself in the lead from the very getgo with Reynolds closely in tow. He did his best to defend the position on the opening lap and carefully grew his advantage at the front of the field, crossing the finish line relatively unchallenged with more than a six-second advantage to wrap up the Schoolboy 1 title.
