Putting the blinders on while rocketing up the initial start stretch, Yoder went on to take a commanding lead and win, resulting in optimum gate choice for the runoff. With a carrot seemingly dangling off the visor of the Menifee native, Yoder constantly yearned for whatever was in front of him, resulting in a hefty lead and race win; 1-1 for the class overall. He duplicated the success in the 10-11 year old division, setting the fastest laptime of both heat and runoff, and placing a stamp on the reign of the 65cc throne; he would claim both moto wins and the overall.
Many say it’s harder to defend a championship rather than initially obtaining one, and that may hold true in many cases, but for Yoder, this was no such challenge.
First to the stripe yet again in both endeavors of Open and 10-11 year old divisions, Yoder set himself up for a clean sweep of the 65cc bracket. Fending off pressure from highly touted names such as, Ryder DiFrancesco and Haiden Deegan, the task wouldn’t be easy.
But through the darkest of shadows comes the brightest of lights, as Yoder flourished in spite of the heavy competition that surrounded him. Perfecting his scored cared with another series of 1’s, he would go on to accumulate the lowest score possible and take another two overall’s back home. Great job Hunter.
