JORDAN JARVIS
After a disappointing year at Loretta Lynn’s where Jordan Jarvis didn’t meet the high expectations that she sets for herself, she made the trip to The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City for the first time in her career seeking redemption. The Triangle Cycles backed Yamaha rider is always one of the favorites to take the title anytime she shows up at the track, and this time was no different -- Jarvis dominated the Womens (12+) class as well as the Girls (11-16) class, putting together four moto victories in order to take both titles with ease. The North Carolina native pulled four holeshots, set four fastest lap times, and did so with relatively no pressure from her competitors. It didn’t matter whether she was aboard her Supermini or her 125, Jarvis was the class of the field on any occasion. In the Girls (11-16) class, she was able to set a pace that was more than five seconds quicker than her closest competitors, pushing all the way until the checkered flag in order to showcase her fitness. Jarvis often set faster lap times as she gained her rhythm while the motos progressed, stamping her authority on each and every race. Her largest margin of victory was over thirty seconds in the Girls (11-16) class and in the Womens (12+) class, the Yamaha rider managed to accumulate leads of more than twenty seconds by the time she reached the checkered flag. In fact, there was only one race that she didn’t win by twenty seconds or more, missing out on the feat by merely nine tenths of a second. In addition to the pair of number one plates she received, Jarvis also won a nine foot tall teddy bear for her dominant performance in the Girls (11-16) class, comically riding away into the pits with the stuffed animal situated between herself and the handlebars.
