Elias came into the first round of the 2017 season at Circuit of the Americas raring to go on the brand new GSXR 1000RR. The thirty-four year old did the double at the circuit last year and he was looking to remain undefeated down in Austin, Texas. Elias showed good pace from the very first session and he was able to land his Factory Yoshimura Suzuki ride in third place on the grid during Superpole with a blazing fast
