Taft led every lap of the race and put himself on the top of the box between the Geico Honda duo of charboneau and Sexton. In the second moto, Taft failed to pull off one of his trademark
holeshots and he found himself in third place on the opening lap. He held the position for half of the race until Charboneau managed to get around him on lap five. This sparked a heated battle between the two of them for the podium in which Taft narrowly lost, ending the race in fourth place only six tenths of a second off the box. The third moto brought the return of one of his trademark holeshots, but the Geico Honda boys were on a mission. Chase Sexton came back from a mid-pack start to win the race in the closing laps and Taft was eventually pushed back to fourth place by Michael Mosiman. His fantastic starts and consistent finishes were still enough to earn him a 3rd place overall in the ultra competitive 250 Pro class. The Open Pro Sport class didn’t go as smoothly, because an opening lap mistake in the second moto forced Bradley into a seventeenth place finish. He was still able to win the last moto on Sunday and finish second in the first moto on Friday, but ultimately the second moto cost him a better overall result and he found himself in 6th place at the end of the weekend. Bradley Taft will be itching to get back down to the Ranch and see if he can add a couple more Loretta’s National titles to his growing collection before he takes on the professional ranks.
