When you think of the hotbeds of motocross, you envision California, Texas, and none other than beautiful state of Florida. All of the im- mense talent that has been both produced, and moved to this state, with names like Stewart, Carmichael, Ferry, Dungey, Reed... it goes on and on. The plethora of tracks to ride, the perfect training temperatures, and availability of fast competition, offer up the precise prov- ing grounds for starts to be born. And on of the brightest commodities to come through the state in recent memory? None other than De- land’s Hannah Hodges. Hodges, a multi-time national champion, has won titles at every event on the planet it seems like, and came into Mini O’s, destined to bring more home to her mantle. But competition such as Jordan Jarvis and fellow Floridian Jazzmyn Canfield were having none of it; they weren’t going to let this simply be hers for the taking. Heat one saw Jarvis out front, and open an outrageous, eleven-second gap on Jamie Astudillo. Tayler Allred, wanted to contest the number of 30 of Jarvis, but the gap had been far too gone; she had nothing to pace herself off of, as the distance of vision was off into the sunset.
