With social media and technology advancing over the years people are now able to share their opinion with
the world(positive
or negative) with no consequences to
follow. Martin Davalos has taken a lot of heat over the years for
not moving out of the 250 class and racing the 450 class full
time. What many of
the outsiders looking
in don’t understand is that this is the riders
job and for most,
their only source of income. Although riders essentially race to entertain us, they
still need to provide for their families and make the best decisions for them. Devalues proved earlier this year in Atlanta and Foxborough that he can still win 250 main events in Monster Energy Supercross. Teams will pay big money for a rider that can potentially win races and get the team and sponsors some exposure. Although it may seem unfair or not make sense to some,
if you had the option
of making six figures racing an easier class or making less than
half of that racing the premier class, which would you choose? Despite all the talk, Davalos is still out there and making an impact in the 250 class each weekend.
