Marvin ‘Must-Win’ came out swinging in Heat 2 with a holeshot, only to be quickly swallowed up by Canard and Dungey. He rode in 3rd for most of the race, until Roczen made the pass setting him back in 4th with two laps to go. Qualifying straight to the main, Marvin had a decent mid-
pack start, and was able to get around the Bogle-Anderson yardsale leading into the second turn.
He was 5th by the beginning of the second lap, and managed to take over 4th from Seely on lap 6. Marvin has really been building momentum this season, especially after ATL and Daytona. He was riding better than ever in Toronto. He caught Tomac by the halfway mark and pounced on him, taking over 3rd. Leaving Eli in the dust, he set his sights on his teammate Ryan Dungey. 8 laps to go and he’s about two seconds behind Dungey. Could Marvin really hunt down and pass the champ? This remains to be seen since Dungey washed out his front end with 4 laps to go, relinquishing 2nd place to the Frenchman. Now, it was Musquin with the two second gap on his teammate. The gap was down to one second with 2 laps to go and Marvin held on to finish 2nd behind a checked out Roczen. Backing up his podium in Daytona, and his outstanding performance in Atlanta, Musquin put in an incredibly solid ride in Toronto. The momentum is building, and the ‘Must-Win’ train is moving on to Detroit.
