SHANE MCELRATH
After a great sophomore supercross season in 2015, Shane McElrath came into the new
year with high expectations. Unfortunately Shane suffered a broken wrist while preparing
for the upcoming season last November, which put a holt on his preparation. Making a full recovery, Shane is back in action and was chosen to race the 250 East Coast SX series due to his time off. Although McElrath and the team are unfamiliar with the east coast, Shane does have some experience here. The North Carolina native grew up on the east coast and also trained at ClubMX Training Facility in South Carolina as an amateur. In addition, he raced the East Rutherford NJ round last year in the 450 class and came up just shy of a top ten finish in his first ever premier class main event. So far the 2016 season has not gone exactly how he had hoped, but it is much better than watching the races from the couch. The more seat time he gets on his Troy Lee Design KTM the better his results will get. He has proven to be a contender for race wins (grabbing two podiums last season) and will be back in the front of the pack before the series is over.
