Mike Alessi made his return to Canada this weekend for Round 10 of the 2016 Supercross Season.
Qualifying 16th out of timed practice, Alessi was placed in heat race number one for the night show.
Having to transfer out of the semi after failing to place top four in his heat race, Mike was ready for the main. Lined up right next to his Smartop MotoConcepts teammate Vince Friese, the two were hoping to enter the first turn in front of the rest of the pack. As the gate dropped Mike was riding well inside the top ten when Geico Honda’s Justin Bogle had a scary moment in front of him. Almost losing the bike in mid air in the first rhythm section, Bogle hung on but caused some big problems when he landed. Losing all of his speed when coming up short in the rhythm section caused multiple riders to smash into Bogle. First to hit was Rockstar Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson and now that there were two bikes laying on the track, a bunch of riders got caught up as well. One of those riders was Mike Alessi. After escaping out of that mess, Alessi rode to a solid 13th place finish.
