GANNON AUDETTE
Another Minnesotan, Gannon Audette, like most riders, spends most of his time training down south. Clinching two Loretta’s Championships, one 450B in 2009 and one Pro-Sport in 2010, put
the long known amatuer on a factory team for SX Lites in 2011. However, less than ideal results that year didn’t get him an invite back, and to make things worse, he was forced to sit out 2012 and 2013
Supercross due to injury. 2015 found him outside the top 10 all year and if this intro of bad things that have happened to
him wasn’t long enough, he had a serious practice crash in November resulting in a lacerated liver, fractured ribs, bruised lung and separated shoulder. He again has to rebuild, something with which he has plenty of experience. First round of the year had him in 14th, solid enough, considering the comeback and that he started that main in 20th. Daytona was much the same, starting 20th and finishing 15th. It seems that riders in Gannon’s position just need a breakthrough weekend where they get the opportunity to start up front or well within the top ten, and really get to run the pace for a while. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s clear that Gannon Audette is determined to keep climbing.
