Doc Smith was one of the top dogs
in the C class at the 2018 Day-
tona RCSX, finishing in the top five throughout all of his heat races before making the jump to the top step of the podium in the 450 C main event. The Kawasaki rider kept himself at the front of the field throughout both days of racing and would provide his com- petitors with a sense of worry heading into the inaugural Spring A Ding Ding at Underground MX in Kemp, Texas. It was hard to match his consistency throughout the weekend of racing in Texas as Smith kept himself regularly afloat at the front of the pack, finding the podium on two separate occa- sions as well as the top five on two others. His results didn’t waiver in the slightest as he moved onto the 2018 JS7 Freestone Spring Champion- ship, most notably earning the 450
C Jr. (12-18) Championship by way
of two impressive first place finishes. Unfortunately, Smith suffered a minor setback in April due to a leg injury, but he’s working hard on his recovery and will be back stronger than ever come the season’s end.
BRAYDAN COMERFORD
Just a wee little lad from the hotbed of Florida, Braydan Comerford is chasing his dreams the correct way, beginning with a solid foundation. He has the right team of family, friends, and crew around, riding on some of the toughest tracks in the country, day after day. With little to no fear, and a sense of maturity that isn’t found too often for someone his age, the only way to go for the Lauder- dale Lakes resident, is up. Storming into to 2018, the family attended both, the ultra-stacked Spring A Ding Ding, and James Stewart Freestone championships. The only number he was after, was that of a first place finish, and he would receive them at both events he attended. Winning two titles at the Spring A Ding Ding, reinforced his confidence enough,
to walk away from Freestone as well with a plate. Comerford is eager to continue stacking, pushing the toys at home to the wayside. He wants the whole house full of them, regard- less of how much room they take up.
