After such a stressful season for Davalos, finishing the year off strong is a must. MD49 sits just 30 points behind points leader with one race remaining. IF he hadn’t missed round 3 in Toronto, due to visa issues Davalos would have been in East Coast title hunt also. The day started off solid, qualifying
4th in timed practice before the night program. The racing was about to begin with 250 heat #1 and Davalos was ready to pick up another heat race win. This year we have been able to witness Martin and his career make a huge adjustment as he seems to be happy with settling for a position other than 1st. @mdavalos49 settled into second in his heat race and never pushed to hard as we have seen him do previous years to get the lead. Finishing each and every race and showing consistency is the key to a championship, not win- ning one or two races and year and then crashing out. It was time for the main event and the Husqvarna rider put himself in a good position to win back to back weekends in a row. Davalos lead laps one to four but dropped back to 2nd from the championship leaded of Malcolm Stewart. The #49 kept Stewart in sight for a while but just couldn’t keep pace with Geico rider, and settled for a respectful 2nd place. After round 8 Davalos is sitting on the outside of the podium in points and could even sneak to second in the standings, if the right cards are dealt next weekend in Vegas.
