Page 7 - FS-Scaredy Cat
P. 7
So, I walked over to a bush and picked up lizard with my beak. The lizard was not too happy about this but when I put him down on the sidewalk next to the puddle; he quickly walked through it, barely getting his little feet wet.
Carmen turned to me and made an “Oh” sound. We then walked together through the puddle, barely getting our feet wet and no alligators were to be seen. She smiled and said, “That wasn’t so bad". But I could tell that she was still needing some help.
Next, I suggested that we play a game call “Catch me if you can.” I explained that I would fly into a nearby tree and Carmen would climb into the tree and chase me, just for fun of course. But Carmen looked away and said, “I can’t do that.” I told her it is just a small tree but she said, “I am too afraid.”
I realized this “scaredy cat” idea was becoming quite a problem for Carmen. A cat that won’t climb to get out of the way of a dog or kid on a bike could get hurt.
