The others applauded her success and then Herman stepped forward and asked, “How were you able to be so successful?”
Mousy, feeling full of excitement and pride said, “Most of you should know that when Precious goes into the people’s sleeping room, he is going to go to sleep. Today, with his chasing of us for the Cheese Game,
I was sure he would be very tired and would sleep very soundly. So, instead of running and scrambling and making all kind of noise like the rest of you, I went slowly and quietly and was able to get the biggest piece of cheese and win the game.”
“Pretty smart,” said Janice. “I would have never thought of that,” admitted James. There were more congratulations and pats on the back for Mousy’s plan.
“Just a minute,” said Herman. “You cheated!” “How did I cheat?” asked Mousy.
