“You waited until the cat was asleep, so you were not brave. The rest of us risked our lives and you didn’t, so you cheated,” said Herman, with a smirk on his lips.
“But the rules only say that the one with the biggest piece of cheese wins, nothing about how you get it,” said Mousy.
“No,” said Herman. “You also have to be brave. Everyone else was brave and you weren’t, so you can’t win.” Mousy looked at the others but they all seemed confused.
Then Herman continued, “Unless you are brave you can’t win.”
“But I made the best plan and it worked and now we all have plenty of cheese to share,” pleaded Mousy.
Herman just said again, “Unless you are brave you can’t win.”
This time when Mousy looked at the others, some of them were shaking their head in agreement with Herman.
Mousy felt her face flushed with embarrassment and anger. Suddenly, she stood up and said, “I’ll show you, Herman and I will show all of you!”
