Page 22 - Mousy Mouse Has a Bad Day
P. 22

In this final part of the story, you see what can happen if you think like Mousy. You end up being too worried about what others think of you. Mousy’s Stinky Thinking caused her to get upset throughout the story. But in the Cheese Game, there is a worse consequence than just being upset.
Mousy is pretty smart and was able to figure out the best way to win the game. Because she did not want to look bad (being accused of cheating) in front of her friends, she was willing to do something she knew was stupid. Now, I know that you could tell that Herman was upset that Mousy had beaten him. He was just making up that “must be brave” stuff. But that did not keep Mousy from upsetting herself and then she had a Very Bad Day!
1. Mousy figured out the best way to win the “Cheese Game.” But then she was accused of cheating. What emotions was she feeling?
2. What did she then do and what happened (behavior)?
3. What was she telling herself that caused this behavior and those emotions?
4. What would you suggest that Mousy tell herself about the “Cheese Game,” so that she would have had more reasonable emotions and better behavior?
