Of course, Darlene did look thin and tall in the new dress but then she always looked thin and tall.
I could tell that Mousy’s happy mood just went down some more as she stared at Darlene’s new striped dress.
When the three friends reached the school grounds, they ran into Jeff, another friend of Mousy.
Jeff noticed that Mousy looked unhappy and asked her, “Mousy, you look sad. Is everything okay?”
Mousy replied angrily, “Yes, everything is just fine except for this out-of-date, ugly dress and my worn-out shoes.”
Jeff was surprised by what Mousy said and replied, “Why Mousy, you look great to me.”
“What would you know,” snapped Mousy, “You are just a boy and you wear worn-out jeans and beat up shoes to school every day!”
Needless to say, Mousy had a very bad day.
