P. 10

But I.M. was running out of things to do that were new, difficult or scary. There were days when he could not think of anything to do to earn his Medal. Then one day he asked his mother if flapping his wings would be good enough to get the Medal because he had never done that before.
His mother asked, “I. M. is wing flapping difficult or scary?” I.M. replied, “Wing flapping is both difficult and scary and
I am not sure I can do it.”
His parents agreed that wing flapping was a task that would get him his Medal for the day. But since this was his first time, I.M. was not very good at wing flapping. And since he had been avoiding learning how to do it, he looked a little silly.
He earned his Medal that day but said to his mother, “I am not good at wing flapping and the other crows my age were making fun of me. They said I looked more like a buzzard than a Crow. I don’t want to do it any more. What else can I do to earn my Medal for tomorrow?”
