Page 18 - SB-Collard Green Garden
P. 18
The Young Girl is like a lot of us. A situation happens and you have to make a decision. In this case, you inherit a farm with a garden full of collard greens and you must decide what to do about the situation. The Young Girl thought about it and decided that she should plant vegetables in place of some of the collard greens.
You will need to learn how to make difficult decisions and to live with the results of those decisions. This can be a very hard lesson for many of us. In our story, the Young Girl’s plan to change the garden was going to benefit her. She did not decide to change it just to be mean to others. When you make that kind of decision, it is a “Green Light” decision, because it is based on Good Thinking and you should “Go” with it.
1. When the Young Girl realized that all she had in the garden was collard greens, what did she think she should do?
2. When she thought that way, how do you think she was feeling?
3. If she had continued to think that way, how would she have acted?
