I jumped down to the lower branches to listen.
She told the four of them that winter was coming and that it was now time for them to build homes of their own. But she told them that they would have to move to other locations in the forest so that there would be enough food for each of them.
Three of the youngsters shook their heads in understanding. But the Fussy Ferret said he was not moving anywhere. He liked it here and the rest of them could go where they wanted but he was staying.
His mother looked very sad and told him that there could only be one ferret to a home and during the hard winter everyone had to take care of themselves.
