DOUBLE OVERHAND LOOP
Purpose
This makes a strong fixed loop for thinner stuff but not for rope (as it jams).
Tying
Form a long bight and tie an overhand knot in the doubled end of the line, then
take an extra tuck (figure 1). Coax the knot into shape, tightening it a bit at a
time, taking care to arrange each turn so that it will lie snugly without parallel
tracks (figure 2) and only then tension and tighten it (figure 3).
