Tie a figure of eight knot in one line, then introduce the working end of the other
               (figure 1). Follow around the lead of the original knot until it has been duplicated

               (figure 2), and then carefully tighten the composite knot (figure 3).

               Another  of  the  so-called  Flemish  bends,  Clifford  Ashley  reported  that  it  was

               bulky and bothersome to tie.
