Purpose
If the knotted line is to be hauled over rugged terrain, or towed in water, use this
streamlined version in which both ends point in the same direction.
Tying
Tie a common sheet bend and then tuck the working end back beneath itself as
shown (figure 1). This is akin to the figure-of-eight becket hitch already
described and illustrated (page 59). Tighten the knot (figure 2).
