BOOM HITCH
Purpose
Use this heavy-duty shire horse of a hitch instead of the snuggle hitch (pages
100–101) when the direction and strength of load is highly variable.
Tying
Begin as if to tie a ground line hitch but then wrap over-over-over and finally
tuck as shown (figures 1–3).
Knot lore
Clifford Ashley seems to have been the first to described this hitch in the Ashley
Book of Knots (1944).
