HIGHWAYMAN’S HITCH
Purpose
This makes a handy hitch for light loads when quick-release may be needed. It is
not suited to heavy work as, in some cordage, it can capsize and spill. Tied in the
middle of a line, the working end may be tugged (to release the draw-loop and
free the knot) from a distance.
