are due to suddenly part ways. It is sad to see Korra disrespect her own

            father to be with Unalaq.

Not long after Unalaq has forcefully gotten himself in charge of

Korra’s training, he soon manipulates her into unlocking the evil spirits
rather than locking them forever. Along the line, Unalaq uses his power

as the ruler of both the south and north poles to conspire with the
attorney against Korra’s father. He is to be put in life imprisonment.

Unknown to Korra, her father is the original person who should be the
overall controller of the north and south poles, a position now dubiously

occupied by villainous Unalaq. Previously, Unalaq was the architect
behind how of how Korra’s father was banished from the North Pole to

the South Pole, where he now settles. Both Korra’s father and Unillaq
were brothers, but Unalaq is determined to usurp his brother’s rightful

seat, and he now has it.

At the end of it all, Unalaq’s evil plans to use Korra for his selfish

ambition of having ultimate power and access to the spirit portal becomes
evident, not even without him trying to get rid of Korra in the process.

This revelation is what brings Korra into a state of epiphany where she
now realizes the tremendous love her father has for her as well as how

perfect trainer Tenzin is for her. In a bid to show gratitude for everything,
here is what Avatar Korra has to say “Thanks, Tenzin. Now I realize that

everything you have taught me was to help me, but all that Unalaq my
uncle taught me was to help his selfish ambition. I am sorry for leaving

you and not realizing this earlier on.”

This is exactly what gratitude is. Like roots sprout from within the

soil, so is gratitude. It is a burning will that stems from an in-depth
understanding of an individual who is aware of the need to be thankful

for some kind of goodness received. Being grateful for the kindness we
enjoy or receive is an attitude that all humans, regardless of gender,

race, or age, must choose to cultivate. The potentials in doing so are not
            only enormous but limitless.
