they would appreciate the said gift? But sadly, to your surprise, they

had not felt moved about an inch, and you feel compelled to find out
            what must have gone wrong?

Notice that gratitude is sparked up by the realization that comes
from inner awareness, an apprehension of personal conviction that a

gift is valuable enough to deserve an act of appreciation. It is common
for humans not to show appreciation for what they find not valuable.

So, simply, gratitude and awareness of value work mutually. In other
words, gratitude is that positive energy that you exercise in response to

whatever good that someone has done for you. The implication of this is
that you are not moved to be grateful if it does not appeal to value.

Gratitude helps us heal as we flight the way of education. Because the
Universe, in its never-ending pursuit to help us, drives us to change, we

all feel a bit roughed up by the process. It is impossible to go through life
without feeling beaten up, and that brings us to question our worthiness.

Feeling gratitude gives us a vote of confidence that we really are OK. It
connects us with both God’s love for us and other people’s appreciation

for our being here. It pulls us out of our narrow-minded interpretation
of our struggles and reminds us that we definitely are not going through

it all by ourselves alone. Depending on which angle it is viewed, being
appreciative reminds us that we are treasured.
