On June 1-4, 2023 the NYSDA House of Delegates met in Saratoga Springs, NY where 33 resolutions were

debated and voted on to help improve the profession of dentistry. Four of those resolutions came from
NCDS. All were either passed or referred to Council for study. One of those passed resolutions requires
NYSDA to pursue legislation to have NYS law changed so that Associations like ours can provide group health
insurance to our members. Not an easy task since it will be opposed by the insurance lobby but we will be in
there fighting for our members. We thank our 11 delegates, Drs. Steve Akseizer, Doug Schildhaus, Elyse
Patrella, Maureen Tredwell, Don Hills, Howard Baylarian, Dave Miller, Kathy Leibowitz, Frank Palmaccio, Bob
Peskin, and Gene Porcelli. Also a special thanks to Dr. Scott Tredwell for stepping in as an Alternate.
