Oral Cancer Screenings for the Public

On Wednesday October 19, 2022 NCDS provided oral cancer screenings to the public, sponsored by the
Rotary Club of Great Neck and held at the Great Neck Social Center on Grace Ave. NCDS members Drs.
Jim Dolin, Lidia Epel, Fabiola Milord, and Parul Dua Makkar, along with dental residents from Northwell/
LIJ and Northwell/North Shore Hospitals Drs. Venessa Callejo, Abe Hashim, Michelle Haykin, and Siran
Kaprielian donated their time to perform oral cancer screenings to over 60 people.

Then on Saturday, December 3, 2022 NCDS provided oral cancer screen ings to the public at the Hofstra
Health Fair held in the Hempstead Housing Authority Community Center on Clinton Street in Hempstead.
We thank Drs. Joe Brofsky, Jim Dolin, and Binod Verma for giving up their Saturday to help serve the
public and promote the image of the Nassau County Dental Society as Nassau’s leading advocate for oral
health.
Organized dentistry not only helps our members succeed; we also are a vital link to the public’s oral
health. Through such programs as our Oral Cancer Screenings, Give Kids A Smile, along with associations

with organizations such as the Dental Lifeline, we give back to the community and improve our
profession’s reputation in the public’s eye.
