My point is that change comes with living, and we need to embrace it. We need it for our personal growth
and the growth of our practice. The ADA is changing. It’s trying to improve by harnessing the technologies
of today to better connect with our members and give them a better member experience. With this
growth, comes “growing pains.” Having to do things in a new way can be a daunting experience fraught
with frustration. Don’t shrink from it, embrace it. Eventually you’ll see the advantages outweigh the diffi-
culties of clinging to the past. Besides, if we could get through dental school, we can accomplish anything!

So, I propose to you the following. Look into meditation, not the full blown, candles burning, lotus knee
bending style that takes great effort. Instead, try five minutes of calm deep breathing, quieting the
mind and see where MMMM can take you!

NCDS In Search of a New Bulletin Editor
After 13 years as our Bulletin Editor, Dr. Donald Hills has decided to step down so he can devote more
time to his position as our NYSDA Trustee. We are putting out a call to all our members. The job of Editor
involves overseeing the publication of the three yearly issues of our Bulletin, gathering articles for print,
proof reading the issue prior to print, and writing an Editorial for each issue. If you’d like to be considered
for this volunteer position, please submit your name, CV, and some examples of your writings to our
Executive Director, Dr. Gene Porcelli by emailing him at eporcelli@nassaudental.org
Potential candidates will be contacted to set up an interview by our search committee. This is an
opportunity to share your ideas and perspectives on dentistry with all our members.
