Gilbert Proposed Paratransit Service Change

Dear Gilbert Paratransit Customer,

This flyer provides information about proposed changes to paratransit service, within the
Town of Gilbert, which could take effect October 26, 2020. See below for a list of
meetings where you can go to learn and provide feedback about these proposed
changes.

The Town of Gilbert is committed to providing transportation options to its citizens. This
includes access to bus and alternative services like Paratransit and RideChoice. In
order to ensure that we are able to meet as many of the growing needs as we can, we
are considering some changes to the Valley Metro Paratransit service area in Gilbert
(also known as Dial-a-Ride) which, if approved, will go into effect on October 26, 2020.

Currently, Paratransit service is available on a townwide basis even though federal law
only requires paratransit to be provided within three-quarters of a mile of local bus
routes and light rail stations. RideChoice is also currently available townwide. As other
communities have recently done, the proposed plan is to provide ADA Paratransit only
where federally required. RideChoice will continue to meet the needs of customers
townwide.

As a result, the Town of Gilbert is proposing to operate ADA paratransit in those areas
of Gilbert required by federal law. The map on the reverse side shows the proposed
ADA paratransit service area. RideChoice has and will continue to be available to all
ADA paratransit eligible Gilbert residents and available throughout the town of Gilbert.

In January 2020, Valley Metro and the Town of Gilbert will be hosting 3 public outreach events
to provide an opportunity learn about the proposed service changes, have your questions
answered, learn about and register for RideChoice and provide comment. The public outreach
meeting dates, times and locations are listed below.
