ADVS to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War
Join the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services as we lead the State in
commemorating Korean War Remembrance Day. The Korean War started 70 years
ago on June 25, 1950. Over 1.8 million Americans served in this war. 36,000
Americans gave their lives and 8,100 became missing in action. Of those lost were
247 Arizonans who bravely served and paid the ultimate sacrifice.
ADVS will respectfully honor all Korean War veterans through a virtual Korean War
Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 8 a.m. The ceremony will
stream live on Facebook and YouTube. The ceremony will include guest speakers,
the reading of the Governor’s proclamation, wreath laying and more.
