Executive Director Report July 2021
Well, it has been a busy start of summer. We are in the process of finalizing
the bids to get the apartments up and rented by October. I am estimating
on the low end 40k a year for the apartments.
Along with almost every other Veteran Organization; PVA is losing
members. We plan to contact the State and find out why when they send a
form to the V A asking if an individual has V A benefits; they are told no. Why
is a Veteran with a catastrophic injury (Category 4) being turned down?
Also there has been a huge influx of money given to the V A for
construction, upgrade of services and more staff. I believe that the United
Arizona Veterans need to contact our elected officials and go after a larger
campus. We are the second largest V A (by population served) in the U.S.
Y ou might have noticed that the phone lines are erratic. The new VOIP
system is erratic as our cable provider is updating as the city continues its
rapid expansion, add to that our new phone system learning curve and the
Chapter will be much smoother. I apologize for missed calls.
Les Craddock went to Las Vegas as our new National Director. We are
contemplating sending other Board Member to go with him and learn more
about National PVA ’s leadership system.
We must decide what we want to use the large building for. Right now, we
are using it for the loan closet, and we are talking to a grant writer, to renew
the best option for maximum return. The Chapter has many options with
the equipment and hopefully cooler picnics.
Thank you
Peter Quinn, Executive Director
